“Virtue and Labour”... the guiding motto of St. Joseph’s Convent Girls’ High School .....perfectly reflects the spirit of this school, a place where one truly grows. It has been more than just a school to me; instilling in us discipline, responsibility, integrity, and gratitude. The lessons here go far beyond textbooks, nurturing faith, perseverance, and self-belief. Our teachers were always approachable, supportive, and genuinely committed to guiding us, while the inspiring leadership of our Principal, Dr. Sr. Sagayamary B., encouraged us to grow, lead, and embrace challenges with confidence. The school recognised and nurtured every student’s talents, giving us opportunities to explore and excel in academics, arts, and co-curricular activities. The assemblies, daily routines, and shared experiences created memories and lessons that will stay with me forever. I will always carry these lessons with pride and remain a proud Josephite forever.! :)
The three years I spent at St Joseph’s Convent Girls High School were truly the best! Our teachers didn’t just teach - they instilled confidence and the freedom to showcase our personality, creativity and passion all with an education that was truly class apart.
I made friends for life and learned leadership as part of the Student Council, which pushed me out of my shell.
One of my favourite memories? Planning a surprise for our Teachers on Teacher’s Day with the entire council - it was pure joy!
I’m forever grateful for the values and laughter this school gave me, which I carry with pride every day. .
St. Joseph’s
Convent Girls High School has been one of the most meaningful chapters of my
life. My journey from 2018 to 2021 was filled with growth, discipline, and
experiences that shaped my character in countless ways. I feel grateful to have
been guided by our principal, Dr. Sr. Sagaya Mary B, whose disciplined, bold,
and courageous nature taught us to stand strong and be confident young women.
In my graduating year, we were led by Sr. Clara P.V., whose kindness, empathy,
and gentle guidance made a deep impact on us. The school created an environment
where learning was not just academic, but also moral and personal.
From the
very beginning, the school trusted me with responsibilities that helped me grow
quietly but steadily. In 8th standard, I was the Eco Club Assistant Leader; in
9th standard, I served as the Discipline Leader; and in 10th standard, I was
honoured to be the School Head Girl. These roles never made me feel superior —
instead, they taught me humility, responsibility, and teamwork. One of my proud
yet humbling experiences was giving the Independence Day speech in 2019, where
I was appreciated by teachers, sisters, and students. It meant a lot to me
because it encouraged me to believe in my abilities without losing my
groundedness. I was also actively involved in co-curricular activities, which
added colour and confidence to my school life. The teachers — especially Mrs. Jyothi
and Mrs. Vanitha along with Mrs. Elizabeth, supported me wholeheartedly.
Along with
the guidance of my teachers and mentors, the friends I made at St. Joseph’s
Convent Girls High School are a huge part of why these years were so special. I
was blessed with a group of friends who were kind, genuine, and truly good
company. They made everyday school life memorable in the simplest ways. When I
look back at the years from 2018 to 2021, I feel deeply thankful — for the
values I learned, the confidence I gained, the opportunities I was given, and
the people who helped shape me into who I am today.
Some places leave a lifelong mark on you, and for me, this school is one of them. My three years of high school at St. Joseph’s Convent Girls’ High School remain some of the most meaningful and transformative years of my life.
When I look back, I don’t just remember classrooms and textbooks - I remember a place that made me who I am today, gave me confidence, values, and some of my happiest memories.
In terms of academics, the school really encouraged us to be curious and always acknowledged the effort we put in. My teachers never limited learning to the syllabus. They pushed us to ask questions, to think deeply, and to challenge ourselves. Their guidance helped me discover my potential and build a strong foundation for the years that came followed.
The school also offered excellent infrastructure, from well-equipped classrooms and modern science labs to a vibrant auditorium and a spacious playground.
What made my experience truly extraordinary were the many cultural activities and events that went far beyond academics. Whether it was participating on stage, working behind the scenes, or cheering for my classmates, every experience added a new layer to my growth. I always felt supported, motivated, and appreciated.
Being chosen as the Head Girl was a privilege that changed me in ways I will always value. It gave me the chance to truly understand leadership. Through this role, I learned how to communicate better, manage challenges, motivate those around me, and represent my school with pride. It helped me grow into a more confident individual. What stands out most are the moral values that were woven into everything we did. Respect, kindness, discipline, and integrity were lessons taught every day by our teachers and the school community.
These values continue to influence my choices and actions long after I’ve left the school. I am deeply grateful for every moment spent here. The friendships that feel like family, the teachers who nurtured me, the opportunities that helped me evolve, and the environment that felt like a second home.
This school gave me memories I will cherish forever and lessons that will stay with me throughout my life.
It will always hold a special and irreplaceable place in my heart.
“True education does not end with knowledge
alone; it nurtures character, humility, faith, and the courage to become a
better human being.”
I am Shubha Shree V, an alumna of St.
Joseph’s Convent Girls' High School, where I completed my 10th grade in 2014.
Those years were among the most formative of my life, shaping my academic
journey as well as the values and principles that continue to guide me as an
individual and as a professional Architect.
The school provided me with a strong
academic foundation and encouraged excellence in learning while nurturing
curiosity, discipline, and clarity of thought. The structured environment and
high standards upheld by the institution instilled in me a strong work ethic
from a young age. As an architect, where creativity must be balanced with
precision and responsibility, I constantly draw upon the discipline and design
thinking cultivated during my school years.
Beyond academics, St. Joseph’s played a
pivotal role in developing my confidence, communication skills, and leadership
abilities. Serving as a House Captain, being an active member of Scouts and
Guides, and participating in numerous school fests, cultural programs,
inter-school competitions, and academic events allowed me to grow into a
confident, outgoing, and responsible individual. Winning prizes for both the
school and myself strengthened my self-belief, resilience, and sense of
purpose.
Representing the school as a volleyball
player, competing and winning up to the district level, taught me invaluable
lessons in teamwork, discipline, perseverance, and sportsmanship qualities that
continue to shape my professional approach and personal values.
One of the most profound lessons St.
Joseph’s Convent Girls High School taught me was humility. While the school
consistently encouraged us to strive for excellence, it equally emphasized the
importance of remaining grounded and respectful. Success was never defined
solely by achievements, but by character, empathy, and integrity.
A defining aspect of everyday school life
was the emphasis on daily prayer and spiritual grounding. Beginning each day
with prayer instilled gratitude, mindfulness, and inner discipline. This
practice taught us that becoming a good human being is as important as becoming
a successful professional , a lesson I carry with me to this day.
St. Joseph’s also gifted me lifelong
friendships, formed through shared experiences, challenges, celebrations,
competitions, and collective growth. These bonds continue to remain strong and
meaningful, standing as a testament to the nurturing environment fostered by
the school.
The guidance and unwavering dedication of
the teachers made learning an enriching and inspiring experience. I am
especially grateful to our respected Principal, Sr. Sagaya Mary, whose
leadership, encouragement, and belief in her students pushed us to reach our
full potential and strive for excellence.
St. Joseph’s Convent Girls' High School did
not merely educate me; it molded my character, shaped my values, strengthened
my faith, and helped me evolve into a confident professional and a grounded
individual. In every design I create and every responsibility I shoulder as an
Architect, I see a reflection of the discipline, creativity, humility, and
values instilled in me during my school years.
I carry immense pride and gratitude in being a
St. Joseph’s alumna, and I will always cherish the role my school played in
shaping the person I am today.
