Welcome to the School
The Congregation of the sisters of St. Joseph of Tarbes was founded in France in the year 1843 by six young peasant girls who had a special experience of God,
which urged them to live TOGETHER a life of contemplation.
Thus living in communion, they became sensitive to the needs of the people around and responded enthusiastically to their call to educate children & care for
the sick. Later they responded to other forms of service. Their main aim in Education was to ensure the Christian formation of youth and to help the poor.
The Congregation of the Sisters of St. Joseph of Tarbes was established in the year 1882.
The Sisters of St. Joseph of Tarbes started a primary school for the Indian Girls in 1899 in a house donated by Smt. Rajamma Thamboo Chetty. Since then

immense growth and witnessed the silver Jubilee Celebration in 1968. With the fast speeding years and growing numbers the school celebrated its Golden
